In a time period in history, where “service to self” seems to be the common theme, it is an honor to pay our greatest respects to amazing people who give themselves to something bigger than themselves. Is there anything more brave, selfless, honorable than this? Veterans, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

As a woman from a family who has many members who have served in our military branches, and who has married into a family of many members who have served in our military branches, I couldn’t be prouder. There is no greater sacrificial service, than to be willing to put your life on the line for something bigger and more important than yourself. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We honor you. Veterans will always, always be a favorite of mine.
Happy Friday, friends!!! Friday is the best day of the week, in my opinion. Therefore I keep it light on Fridays and I only discuss the frivolous – essentially material stuff that I like. On Fridays, I offer up one of my favorites, whether it be a book, a movie, a product, a website, etc. and I ask you to add your own favorites to my Comments section. Please also check out previous Friday posts for more favorites.
Today’s favorites are hilarious plant stakes that I purchased at a local plant shop, but it turns out that you find all sorts of these sticks of cute-funness, on Etsy. (With that in mind, before you know it, every one of our own dozens of plants will soon have their own stake.) These plant stakes make me smile and giggle to myself every time that I look at them, so besides the delicious clean oxygen my plants offer up to me, now they make me giggle and smile on the daily, too. How great is that?! What a simple, easy, inexpensive way to add delight into your own life.
Have a wonderful weekend! See you tomorrow.

Happy Veterans Day! There are a lot of veterans in my family, and I am extremely proud of that fact. Thank you, all veterans, for your service, for your sacrifice and for your courage. #GratitudeMission
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You are respected. You are appreciated. You are loved.
Starting a new subject, I like the Wise Connector’s tweets (@wiseconnector). Many times, the Wise Connector just asks his Twitter followers questions, sort of like a modern day Plato or Socrates on Twitter. This question intrigued me:
“What are the TWO qualities you seek in a friend?” Out of the 175 replies, these were the qualities that were easily the most repeated: honesty, loyalty, humor, understanding, reliability, authenticity
“If you want a friend, be a friend”, the saying goes. Are you honest and loyal and funny and understanding and reliable and authentic in your relationships with others? Are you honest and loyal and amusing and understanding and reliable and authentic with yourself? In other words, are you a good friend to others and to yourself?
“What’s the best thing in your life right now?” was another recent question the Wise Connector asked on Twitter. Out of 273 answers, once again there were constant similarities to the answers. Most of the answers fell into these categories: family, friends, pets, faith, health, peace of mind, creativity.
This is a good time to meditate on the best things in your own life, and to feel a deep and profound gratitude for these “things”.

I am in a beautiful part of a beautiful country right now. I took a peaceful morning walk, in wooded bliss, with our three dogs who seem to think that they have died and gone to doggy heaven. I walked along a lush carpet of wet, colored leaves with my bare feet, something that I haven’t done in a long, long time. I feel utter peace and awe right now. It is not lost on me that I am able to do this, in part, because of the selflessness of brave men and brave women who have served, and some of them have even given their lives, in order to protect the freedoms of our great nation. I greatly respect and honor all of you. I am in total gratitude to all of you who have served the United States of America. You are our blessing. I extend a special shout out to my grandfathers, my father, my father-in-law, my sister-in-law, my uncle and my cousin who have all served in our steadfast military. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you, with deepest sincerity to all veterans and to your families, for preserving our freedom, at any cost. I am honored to send a special shout-out to my father, my father-in-law and my grandfathers (all three deceased), my sister-in-law, my uncle and my cousin for their selfless service to our country. Thank you, truly. I appreciate, respect, and praise your bravery, courage, and sacrifice, for everything that we hold dear in this country. We are blessed to have citizens that choose to do this service, as a way of life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has served and their family members, as well. I am so grateful for the many freedoms that my family and I enjoy and cherish, because our great military has protected our beautiful, free country. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I particularly want to send a proud shout-out to my father, my father-in-law and grandfathers (all three deceased), my sister-in-law, my uncle and my cousin for their selfless service to our country. Thank you, truly.
