Good morning! Happy Lucky Friday the 13th!!! Fridays are the best days of the week, aren’t they?? Fridays are equally full of both anticipation and relaxation. As most of you know, Fridays are for favorites on the blog. I learned about the above item, when a friend sent a picture of herself donning one, to our group chat. I’ll leave it up to your imagination, the jokes that ensued. That being said, another friend vouched for the “Headache Relief Hat” ‘s effectiveness for her headaches. As one who is prone to migraines, I decided to order one for myself for $15 on Amazon. Thankfully, I haven’t had a migraine since I received my Headache Relief Hat, but I am currently wearing it right now and I must say, it feels wonderful, even without a headache. It is nice and cool and soothing.
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Three quarters of our kids are home this weekend and we have movie night planned for tonight, so I am a happy camper. Love and luck on this auspicious day!

Friday is the day for surfacy, lightness on the blog. Fridays are for favorites. On Favorite Things Friday, I share one of my favorite things and I ask you to share your favorites. Before I actually get to sharing one of my favorite physical things, I want to share a great quote by the author Byron Katie:
Don’t be afraid to question your own beliefs. Make sure that these beliefs are truly yours, and that they from that all-knowing, wise, comforting voice from inside of yourself and from the depths of your own heart.
My favorite for today is Skinny Dipped Almonds. They are chocolate covered nuts which are thinly dipped with just a light covering of chocolate. They are just the right mix of sweet and salty. In my mind Skinny Dipped Almonds are amazing-tasting-candy-with-less-guilt. My favorite flavor would be the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter variety. So good!

Hi friends and readers! Welcome to the best day of the week! On Fridays, I keep it surfacey. I typically list three favorite books, products, websites, songs, etc. and I strongly encourage you to share your favorites in my Comments section. Safflower Seeds – If you are like me, and you really enjoy having all sorts of birds in your yard, but you could live without the squirrels visiting, (they torture my poor Collie, Josie), then fill your bird feeders with safflower seeds. According to the experts, birds loves these seeds, but squirrels can’t stand them. I have two “squirrel proof” feeders in my backyard, but that doesn’t stop the squirrels from doing all sorts of Olympics-level acrobatics on the feeders, trying to “break the code.” This really sets off Barky, I mean Josie. I am hoping that these safflower seeds will finally send the squirrels packing.
Adam on Twitter (@adamgreattweet) – This guy is a resident physician in Georgia, but he is also one of the best “curators” of funny on the internet. I love most of his own funny tweets, but he also has a knack for finding other really funny tweets from so many different sources. (I don’t know where he finds the time to practice medicine.) Warning some of the tweets are a tad raunchy, but many of them are just plain funny, especially the ones that comment on parenting. Here is a sampling from a few of his recent tweets/retweets:

“Peace is a practice.” – I read this recently and it has become my new favorite mantra. A wise person once said to me that you don’t go into a gym, look at the really buff people and ask yourself, “Why are these really buff people here at the gym?” The buff people are at the gym because the gym is where they got buff, and the working out at the gym is how they maintain the buff. Our peaceful minds work the same way. You have to find the ways that help you to gain and to maintain your inner peace and clarity, and you have to implement these practices on a daily basis. Unfortunately, just like good bodily health is not a “one and done”, neither is good mental/emotional health. “Peace is a practice.“

Happy Friday the 13th, 2020! (don’t be scared – HA!) My regular readers know that I usually call Fridays, “Favorite Things Friday” and I typically list three favorite things or products or songs or websites, etc. which have added to the delight of my life. I love Fridays and I keep ’em light. This Friday, I happen to be with my all-time favorite people (and pets), my family. With the kids getting older and moving into their own adult lives, these times aren’t as prevalent as they used to be, so I feel the need to keep the focus and my attention on this precious time with my family.
